There are two main types of immigration to Canada: Temporary Residence (visiting, study permit, work permit) and permanent residence. Each type of immigration has a number of different pathways to take: Study Permit, Work Permit, Family Sponsorship, Economic immigration, Humanitarian and Compassionate immigration. Every case is unique, even though it may fall into the same broad categories. Get in touch to discuss the details of your case and what your possibilities may be.
Each immigration pathway has its own processing time, as does each Canadian immigration office around the world. The answer is: it depends on what application you are filing and what country you are from.
Temporary Resident Visas (Visitor visas, study permits and work permits) have a shorter processing time than permanent resident visas.
Yes. If you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, you can sponsor your spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner. You must prove your relationship is genuine, meet financial and residency requirements, and agree to support your partner for three years after they become a permanent resident.
A visitor visa (Temporary Resident Visa or TRV) allows a foreign national to enter Canada temporarily for tourism, family visits, or business. Most visitors can stay in Canada for up to 6 months per entry, though the officer may authorize a shorter or longer stay. You must show ties to your home country and that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit.
